Route

The real challenge is the long route with a total distance of 110km and a maximum elevation of 1600m, the route is suitable for those with adequate training.

Again, the route is the same as the other routes up to Sambuca, but unlike the medium one, you continue towards Salaparuta and Poggioreale and the ruins of the '68 earthquake (suggestion MacAdam #3).

After recovering some energy with a brief stop at the various refreshment points, the route continues along the old Castelvetrano - Burgio railway line, which served most of the villages of the Belice. Stop to catch your breath at the Cretto di Burri, the largest Land Art work in Europe, created on the rubble of the old city of Gibellina. Set off again in the direction of Santa Ninfa and Partanna, for a ride through the Magaggiara wood. From there, it's all downhill towards Menfi and the final refreshment point.
